Dear friends,
I have so much to update you on. Things really are going at full speed right now! Its hard to believe that 5 weeks from right now we will be in Malawi!
Two weeks ago we had another team meeting to prepare for our trip. It was very exciting! We learned more about how we will be helping the COTN ministry and even did some team building exercises.
One part of our time in Malawi will be spent hosting a retreat for the support staff of the group homes. They have not had a break like this in two years. Our task will include planning and executing group activities that will promote building relationships and we will also be looking for ways to pamper and serve them. We are currently collecting ideas for interactive ice breaker activities that can overcome the language and cultural barriers we will face. Please share if you have any suggestions!
Other preparations are coming along as well. I have received all my shots and Eddie will be getting his soon. The schedules are nearly finalized for our caregivers for the girls, and we are steadily making progress with our support raising.
We still need about $2700 in the next month. Without faith that would be a daunting task, but our God is bigger and will provide! He has already been working in creating opportunities for me to present about this mission at work and a Kiwanis meeting. Please pray as those who have heard are deciding, what, if any, their contribution will be. Despite this challenge, we are grateful for all the support we have received. Thank you to so many who have shared advice, prayed, encouraged, and supported financially this opportunity.
